The Countdown Begins....

christmas 2007

There are 40 days until Christmas. That's only 6 more Sundays. Just one more payday... Sh*t!

I'm not going to lie, I'm impressed how organised my Christmas shopping has been so far. My love of Christmas has meant that I've been budgeting and buying for months... and it's paying off. I'm over halfway *insert cheering and round of applause here* (Although I know that some people are uber-organised and have completely finished, including the stocking fillers... I'm totally jealous. I love Christmas as soon as all the preparations done!)

Actually scratch that, I love the idea of wrapping up presents and watching people open them.. providing I've actually managed to hit the nail on the head for different quirky presents that match the person perfectly. apologies in advance anyone who gets a present and doesn't get the quirk-iness... (Any suggestions that I may not have come up with, comment below?)

I cannot wait for the big day itself, the Christmas dinner with the family, drinking, decorations and having a day to just be. That's a technical term 'just be', the BF will definitely agree!

I have decided this year that I don't want lots of expensive presents - this is me being all grown-up... it's definitely not the true meaning of Christmas - instead, if I get anything I think they need to be useful things that I need but haven't got around to buying.... Like new pyjama bottoms*  or a stapler....

To keep costs lower here in the university house, we tend to do SecretSanta )although its still pending organisation this year) with a price limit and see where that gets us. Safe to say that our presents were random ranging from phone cases to Jiggleballs (Read 50 Shades of Grey for product description...)

One way or another, Christmas is definitely my favourite time of year. The season of giving.

*The pj bottoms being the 3rd pair of 'trousers' I've split in as many weeks. Would love to say that my a*se isn't too big, but this suggests otherwise. Best bit is it's not going to stop me eating what I want and doing no exercise. Why change the habit of a lifetime, ehh?

  1. Totally not organised for Christmas here! My son's birthday is 2 weeks before and it causes chaos and space to hide things - big issue! #PoCoLo

  2. Christmas planning just beginning here. I love the whole thing #PoCoLo

  3. I wish my teenage son was as easy to buy presents for as you seem to be, he keeps telling me he doesn't want anything but a PS4! With five other children to buy presents for, he can just dream on! #PoCoLo

  4. Sounds like you are well organised! I am going to spend a day at the shops this week and the rest will be done on line :) Grace's birthday is 2nd January so I always need to make sure I am as organised as possible! Thanks for linking to PoCoLo x

  5. My only major present buying is for my son, and now he's sixteen he prefers money to spend through the year on X-Box games and stuff. He's easy, and I really enjoy buying loads of bits and bobs stocking fillers for him too, but the few grown ups I have to buy for are a nightmare. Haven't even started yet this year... I think it will be gift vouchers and/or socks all round, and serves 'em right! Bah Humbug! #PoCoLo

  6. We've got serious family illness in my family at the moment so at the mo I haven't discussed Christmas with the OH's family. Hopefully they'll be organising our lunch/inviting us somewhere as I can't really think about it at the moment. But otherwise I've got my son and OH's present, plus one nephew/niece, plus godson's, but still got in laws, and 4 other nephews to buy for, plus 2 of my friends. Bit stumped on those until we get Xmas lists from the nephews. I do love wrapping presents, and the whole Christmassy run up. I just don't think this year's will be the best for my family this year #PoCoLo
